PCI-SS Graduates from Prestegious SBA Emerging Leaders Programs
PCI Support Services (PCISS) is an LLC owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians This newly formed company provides facilities management services including facilities maintenance, landscaping, janitorial, small construction, project management, and procurement. They recently received 8(a) accreditation from the U.S. Small Business Administration, and its President/CEO, Billy Hunt, also just graduated from the SBA’s 2018 Emerging Leaders Program.
“We are extremely excited for PCISS and its recent 8(a) award, the possibilities are potentially endless, stated PCISS Managing Partner, Tim Manning. The Emerging Leaders Program is a distinguished program that identifies 20 small businesses in their region and provides them with extensive training to equip them with the knowledge and skills to succeed and grow. The Mobile Chamber of Commerce is one of only 58 locations nationwide to host this program. The program consists of nearly 100 hours of classroom time for professional training, workshops, and 1-1 work with coaches, mentors, local leaders and the financial community addressing four core areas: business leadership, finances, marketing and sales, and resources.
Hailed as the Streetwise MBA, the participants who complete the 7-month training course graduate with a three-year strategic growth action plan with benchmarks and performance targets, 5/7-year business plans and strategies for workforce development. The program incorporates a curriculum that is research-based and nationally scalable, enabling participating businesses to engage in focused development and expansion strategies, including options for accessing new capital and securing government contracts.
Billy Hunt commented, “I am excited and humbled to be given these opportunities by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and to take PCISS to the next level. The SBA Emerging Leaders Program provided not only a refresher of sorts, but an in-depth look into today’s business climate from some of best and brightest. Certification as an 8(a) business provides PCISS with unique advantages and avenues for competing for and winning governmental contracts. Our purpose is not only to be a part of a diversified portfolio for Poarch Creek, but to provide a vehicle of potential partnerships with tribal member owned businesses.
